The work consists principally of the following: 1. Construction of a new 1.0M elevated composite water tank and associates piping and site improvements. The work covered by this contract consists of furnishing all materials, labor, equipment, tools, supplies and appurtenances necessary for the construction of a public water supply well in accordance with the plans and specifications, and as directed by the Engineer and Owner. All equipment, materials and methods of construction shall be subject to the approval of the Engineer. The well shall be constructed to the latest ADEM and EPA guidelines. The Contractor shall comply with OSHA regulations on confined space entry, as published CFR latest edition. This project is being funded by SRF Project No: FS010405-01 and will require DBE documentation from the low, responsive, responsible bidder no later than 10 days after the bid opening. This project is being supported, in whole or in part, by federal award number SLFRP2635 awarded to the State of Alabama by the U. S. Department of Treasury. As a proposal guaranty, a BID BOND or CERTIFIED CHECK must accompany PROPOSALS in an amount equal to five (5) percent of the proposal or $10,000, whichever is less. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish a performance bond and a bond for payment for labor and materials in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price or each work order listing, said bonds to remain in full force and effect for a period of one (1) year after the completed Work has been accepted by the owner. All bidders must comply with the Contractor's Licensing Laws of the State of Alabama (Ala. Code 1975, Title 34, Chapter 8), and must be certified for the type of work involved. It is also noted that any subcontractor performing Work in excess of $50,000.00 must also be licensed as a general contractor in the State of Alabama.
