Sidewalk improvements along Alabama St., Olive St., Dakota St., Hilty Ave., Illinois St., and Lavinia Ave. Principal items of work include approximately 2,195 SY concrete sidewalk (4" thick) and 836 SY concrete driveway (6" thick). The entire project shall be completed in 45 working days. To be eligible for consideration, bids must be submitted on complete original proposals made available by the owner. Bid documents may be obtained by visiting the Civil Southeast, LLC Plan Room (civilseplanroom.com). Purchase of documents (download or hard copy) is required to be added to the official plan holders list. Bid documents are on file at Elberta Town Hall. No bid documents will be distributed later than 24 hours prior to the scheduled opening of bids. Civil Southeast, LLC is not responsible for third party document distribution. Each bid must be accompanied by a cashier's check (drawn on an Alabama bank) or bid bond for 5% of the amount bid (maximum of $10,000.00) and made payable to the Town of Elberta as evidence of good faith. Proof of all applicable licensures and insurance coverages of the types and amounts set forth in the project specifications will be required prior to award and beginning work. The contractor will be required to perform work amounting to at least 30% of the total contract cost with their own organization. Contractor prequalification is not required to bid. The award will not be made to any bidder who is disqualified by the Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) at the time of the award, or is affiliated with any person presently disqualified by ALDOT. Work must comply with Federal Highway Act rules and other applicable acts. The project is subject to the Contract Work Hours and Safety Standards Act and associated regulations. MBE/DBE participation is encouraged, but no specific goals have been established. Minimum wage rates have been predetermined by the Secretary of Labor and set forth in the advertised specifications. Bidders will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, religion, sex, or national origin in consideration for an award. The right to reject any or all bids and to disregard any minor irregularities is reserved.
