The project consists of approximately 5,300 SY of pulverizing/milling, grading, and HMA paving of Manchester Crossing and Danbury Bay. Other tasks include curb and gutter spot repairs, water valve repairs and adjustments, installation of chimney seals on sanitary manholes, manhole adjustments, sidewalk repairs, and driveway apron replacement. The contractor is responsible for milling about 8'-10' of pavement from the face of the curb on each side, pulverizing the remaining asphalt, hauling off millings, shaping and compacting the remaining material to a 3% cross slope, performing proof roll and EBS soft sections, repairing manholes and valve boxes, and preparing for paving. Marked sections of curb and gutter and inlets requiring adjusting rings are to be replaced. The contractor must maintain two-way traffic during construction, and construction should be staged to provide continuous access throughout the project. There are no plan sheets for the street portion of this work. Incidental tasks include excavation, backfill, compaction, and surface restoration, with the contractor responsible for site safety at all times. The work is to be executed in a professional manner in accordance with relevant standards and specifications, with the contractor responsible for all incidental work necessary to fully complete the project as described or shown. Costs for incidental work are included in unit prices provided.
