This is a service / maintenance or supply contract in Osage City, Kansas. Contact the soliciting agency for additional information.
The City of Osage City is soliciting mowing bids for the Union Cemetery and the American Cemetery located along Highway K-31 north of town. Both cemeteries are to be mowed as one unit, with a maximum of 20 mowing times per growing season from April 1, 2026, to October 31, 2026. Bids may also be submitted for a second and third mowing season if desired. The mowing contractor must provide all equipment, tools, and supplies to ensure an even and pleasant appearance throughout the growing season. Each mowing must include picking up all litter, such as cans, rocks, bottles, paper, trash, plastic flowers, excess branches, debris, or other miscellaneous materials prior to mowing. Trimming around stones, utility poles, fences, buildings, trees, and any object that is part of the cemetery property is required. Mowing should avoid blowing wet grass on headstones and keep them as clean as possible, with emphasis on preventing scalping or trimming too short. Final grass height should be between 3 ½” to 4”; contractors are responsible for reseeding any areas cut too close or burned by equipment. The contractor must report all damage caused by mowing or trimming, as well as vandalism, to the City of Osage City as soon as possible. Commercial General Liability Insurance in the amount of $1,000,000 is required. Grass may need to be mowed and trimmed more often during cooler and wetter weather and may not require mowing for several weeks when temperatures are high. Any questions regarding mowing, trimming, or property lines to prepare a bid should be directed to the Assistant Parks and Facilities Superintendent. Sealed bids are to be sent to the City Clerk or by email. The City of Osage City reserves the right to reject any and all bids.
