Site work for a mixed-use development in Waterbury, Connecticut. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot.
Driggs Elementary Parking Lot Improvements. Mandatory pre-bid meeting attendance is required for those wishing to submit a proposal. On-time sign-in at the meeting is mandatory. All questions, requests for clarification and communications about this RFP and submission requirements must be submitted through the City of Waterbury ProcureWare website and must be received by 2:00 PM on January 26, 2026. Prospective Proposers must limit their contact regarding this RFP to the Purchasing Director or such other person otherwise designated by the Purchasing Director. The contractor must demonstrate good faith effort to meet the 25% set-aside goals. Scope of Services 1. Scope of Work: Site Preparation/Demolition 1. Work area to be established with coordination with any present school stage. Blocking of any pedestrian or emergency doors/exits shall be coordinated prior to initiation of work 2. Delineate and protect the existing play scape area and all other site features indicated to remain on site. Perimeter fencing to be protected during demolition. If moved or damaged, fence to be reset or replaced as required.3. Install all soil erosion and sediment control features required for the Site. Install silt fence around down gradient perimeter and install antitracking pad prior to site work. 4. Remove all surficial features designated for removal and disposal. Items to be relocated within or outside of the parking area are to be removed and stored in areas designated by the Owner. 5. Buried concrete sidewalk material along building to be exposed and full extents to established prior to removal. Upon exposure and verification of the extents of the slab, material to be removed and disposed. 6. Existing pavement to be reclaimed to a depth of 12". 3" +- excess material to be removed to meet final pavement grades. Reclaimed areas to be reviewed for any materials deemed unsuitable for reuse (excessive silt or clay materials, areas susceptible to excessive settling when compacted. 7. Existing concrete driveway apron to be removed. Saw cut sidewalk at the nearest expansion joints. 8. Existing catch basins onsite to be removed and existing invert(s) to be verified for new structure installation. Existing pipe to be removed to nearest connection point to down gradient pipe segment. Protect any exposed pipes from damage or sedimentation.Site Work 1. Reclaimed based to be compacted and fine grading to be completed for bituminous concrete pavement installation. Areas not meeting the required elevation to be augmented with new processed aggregate base material. 2. Install new drainage structure with 2' sump. Install new pipe segment for connections to new structure from existing pipe. Install silt sack until site work is completed. 3. Bituminous concrete pavement to be placed - binder course meeting HMA S0.5 DOT specification; wearing course HMA S0.375 specifications. Pave to edge of reclaimed areas meeting existing lines and grade of existing areas. 4. Install metal fencing along perimeter of new designated play area. New fencing to abut existing fencing at playscape area. 5. New driveway apron and restored sidewalk to be installed meeting City of Waterbury standards. 6. Restripe parking area as depicted in site plans. Relocate site features (i.e. dumpster) back on site in designated areas. 7. Install bollards along parking at existing building. 8. Parking area to be swept and cleaned prior to project close out. All drainage structures to be vacuumed and cleaned prior to final demobilization to remove any excess sediment or debris during construction.
