The general scope of work includes the renovation of the former Animal Control facility into a new Training Center. Program spaces include two storage rooms, a utility room, an entry vestibule, and additional storage. The project also involves providing two new private restrooms. Exterior work will include removal and/or replacement of doors and windows as required, along with the installation of spray foam insulation at all exterior walls and roof structure. Bids shall be on a stipulated sum basis; segregated bids will not be accepted. Subcontractors for major trades must be named by the General Contractors on the official bid form. Bidders are requested to propose dates for project mobilization and project completion on their bid. Each bidder's proposal must be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total bid. All proposals shall be filed on forms furnished, sealed, and plainly marked as described in the Instructions to Bidders. Jasper County reserves the right to reject any or all bids. Question Deadline 02/06/2026 It is the Owners intent that all questions on this project be raised and addressed at the time of the Pre-Bid Conference, with all prospective bidders present. Prior to and following the Pre-Bid Conference prospective bidders may submit questions in writing, including requests for clarification of Bidding Documents, not less than 7 business days prior to date bid is due, to the Architect at the contact information listed above. A certified check drawn upon a solvent bank or bid bond executed by corporations authorized to contract as surety in Iowa, and submitted on AIA Document A310 - Bid Bond, in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total bid and made payable to "JASPER COUNTY", shall be filed with each bidder's proposal as a guarantee that the accepted bidder shall enter into a contract with Jasper County and file an approved surety company Performance and Payment Bond for the faithful performance thereof. Upon failure to comply, said check or bid bond shall become forfeited as liquidated damages.
