Site work, paving and renovation of a mixed-use development in Fairhope, Alabama. Completed plans call for site work for a restaurant; for the renovation of a restaurant; water / sewer project; sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.

The City of Fairhope is requesting responses from qualified contractors to provide all material, equipment, labor, incidentals, overhead and profit. Julwin's Plaza, located at the intersection of Fairhope Avenue and North Bancroft Street, is a transformative public space designed to enhance downtown Fairhope's pedestrian experience and civic identity. The project includes the construction of a brick plaza with integrated raised brick seatwalls, creating defined edges and comfortable seating for individuals and small groups. A central tree court introduces shade and seasonal beauty, while bistro tables offer flexible opportunities for dining, gathering, and informal meetings. The scope of work encompasses site grading, brick paving installation, custom masonry seatwalls, tree planting and soil preparation, site furnishings, and the installation of a city plaque to commemorate Fairhope's heritage. Lighting and utility coordination are also included to support evening use and long-term maintenance. Lighting and utility coordination are also included to support evening use and long term maintenance. o Electrical / Lighting Contingency Fund: o Contractor shall provide required block outs located by the City Electric Department. o City Electric Department will run all conduits prior to contractor's placement of curbing, pavers, and asphalt. o City Electric Department will provide and install new park lamps. o Contractor shall be responsible for coordinating all work to avoid conflicts The BIDDER agrees to provide all material, equipment, labor, incidentals, overhead and profit. The scope of work encompasses site grading, brick paving installation, custom masonry seatwalls, tree planting and soil preparation, site furnishings, and the installation of a city plaque to commemorate Fairhope's heritage. Lighting and utility coordination are also included to support evening use and longterm maintenance, as described in the project Scope of Work. It is expected that the winning bidder can complete this project in135 calendar days, no exceptions for holidays following a fifteen (15) day Notice to Proceed Period. The City of Fairhope will not furnish any labor, material, or supplies unless specifically stated in the CONTRACT Documents. BIDDERS must be properly licensed to perform the work as outlined in the Scope of Work. Awarded Vendor must have a current business license or purchase a business license with the City of Fairhope prior to bid being awarded. Bids shall be accompanied by a Bid Security equal to 5% (percent) of the bid price, but in no event more than $10,000.00. Bid Security shall be in the form of a Bid Bond or a cashier's check payable to The City of Fairhope. No Bid Security is required on bids less than $10,000.00. The BIDDER to whom award is made shall provide a Performance Bond equal to 100% of the CONTRACT Amount and a Labor and Material Bond equal to 50% of the CONTRACT amount. The accepted BIDDER shall also provide insurance as required in ITEM V. Bids may be withdrawn in written or telegraphic request received from BIDDER prior to the time fixed for opening. No bid shall be withdrawn for a period of thirty (30) days subsequent to the opening of bids without the consent of the City Council of the City of Fairhope. The City of Fairhope is an Equal Opportunity Employer and requires that all BIDDERS comply with the Equal Employment Opportunity laws and the provisions of the CONTRACT Documents in this regard. The City of Fairhope also encourages and supports the utilization of Minority Business Enterprises on this and all public bids. Bids that contain irregularities of any kind may be declared unacceptable at the discretion of the CITY. The CITY may waive any irregularities and may reject any or all bids. Bids received after the deadline will be returned to the BIDDER unopened.
