Sealed proposals are sought for Morton Hall Stormwater Drainage Maintenance. A cashier’s check or bid bond payable to The University of Alabama in Huntsville in an amount not less than five percent of the bid, but not more than $10,000, must accompany the proposal. Performance and Payment Bonds and evidence of insurance are required at contract signing. Drawings and specifications are available for examination at the office of RGS Civil Design LLC. Bid Documents may be obtained from the Architect (Engineer) with a $200.00 deposit per set, refundable for the first two sets to each general contract bidder submitting a bona fide bid, subject to document return in good condition within ten days of the bid date. Notice of intent not to bid must be provided at least seven days prior to the bid date for a deposit refund. Bids must be on proposal forms furnished by the Architect (Engineer) or copies thereof. Bidders exceeding the limits set by the State Licensing Board for General Contractors must be licensed under Title 34, Chapter 8, Code of Alabama, 1975, and must display their license number on the sealed envelope containing the proposal. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive technical errors if deemed in the Owner’s best interest. Materials incorporated into the Work are exempt from sales and use tax under Alabama Act No. 2013-205. Contractors and subcontractors must comply with rules of the Alabama Department of Revenue to claim the exemption. All contractors and subcontractors must enroll in the E-Verify program and provide documentation of enrollment. Nonresident bidders must include a written opinion from an attorney licensed in their home state regarding state preferences in public contracts.
