Sealed bids are requested for the construction of the FY 2026 Fiber Optic Project (Project No. 7516-859-043) in Sioux City, Iowa. The project is located at two sites: Site One at the Riverfront, which includes connecting the City collector wells to the City fiber system, and Site Two in Morningside, which involves completing the City fiber Morningside ring. Each bid must be submitted on the provided form and must include a bid bond, cashier's check, certified check, or certified share draft for ten percent of the bid amount, payable to the City Treasurer. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder, but the City reserves the right to reject any or all bids, re-advertise, and waive informalities. Specifications for the project are detailed in the 2025 Iowa Statewide Urban Standard Specifications for Public Improvements as modified by the 2024 City of Sioux City Supplement. Construction documents can be reviewed at the City Clerk's office or accessed online. Bids are subject to the requirement of preference for Iowa products, provisions, and domestic labor. The work must begin no earlier than March 3, 2026, and no later than July 6, 2026, and be completed within 60 working days.
