The Town of Taber is seeking proposals from Accredited Agencies under the Alberta Safety Codes Act to provide inspection services and compliance monitoring for Building, Plumbing, Gas, and Electrical disciplines. The contract will cover an initial three-year term, with the possibility of a three-year extension. The contractor will deliver comprehensive Safety Codes inspection services, including all staffing, equipment, vehicles, and related operational needs. The work includes permit document review, all inspection services, and compliance monitoring within the Town's boundaries, supporting administration as needed. Services must adhere to the Town of Taber's Quality Management Plan (QMP), be performed in a timely and professional manner, and require cooperation with property owners and representatives to achieve compliance with the Safety Codes Act. All Safety Codes Officers must be trained in the QMP and maintain ongoing access to current versions relevant to their discipline. The contractor will also provide technical and consultative support to permit applicants, monitor compliance, complete inspection reports, and take action to address deficiencies or unsafe conditions. Additional responsibilities include record-keeping, confidentiality, permit fee intake, and compliance with all applicable legislation and standards. All proposals must be submitted through the Town's online bidding system, and proponents are responsible for ensuring complete, compliant, and timely submissions, including all mandatory forms and documentation. References are required, preferably from municipalities, and all insurance, licensing, and regulatory requirements must be met prior to contract award. The contractor must also provide detailed information on approach, team qualifications, experience, and relevant past projects.
