Renovation of a transportation facility in Sacramento, California. Working plans call for the renovation of a transportation facility.
**The owner has determined a prequalified list of construction managers. A timeline for the award has not yet been established.** The County of Sacramento Department of Airports is seeking a qualified firm, partnership, corporation, association, persons, or professional organizations as construction manager at-risk ("CMAR" or "Firm") to perform pre-construction and construction services for the Sacramento International Airport Terminal A Chiller Capacity Upgrade. CMARs that intend to submit a SOQ must meet the following minimum requirements: o Ability to provide adequate bonds and insurance commensurate with the work to be performed o Hold a Class B or higher Contractors License which is current, valid, and in good standing with the California Contractors State License Board o Be registered with the California Department of Industrial Relations and qualified to perform public work as required by California Labor Code sections 1771.5 and 1725.5 o Have delivered projects using CMAR delivery method and managed work through Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) contracts o Ability to deliver similar projects within performance period and budget o Experience working with government agencies and with public works projects, including applicable public contracting and labor compliance requirements In addition, experience in the following areas is desired: o Working in secured public areas o Working in an operational setting that interacts with the public o Experience with complex equipment replacement projects Question Submission Deadline: February 27, 2026, 5:00pm Interview Reservations (Tentative): April 9, 2026 Terminal A Street Address: 6850 Airport Boulevard Sacramento, CA 95837 The project scope includes procuring and installing a new 1,500 ton chiller that will handle the full load, with the two 500 ton chillers retained as backup units. The new chiller will have a flow requirement of 3,000 gpm for chilled water and 4,500 gpm for condenser water. The new machine will have different pressure drop characteristics in comparison to the two existing machines which result in upgrades of chilled water primary pumps, chilled water secondary pumps, and condensing water pumps to overcome the increased pressure drop on the new machine. The current pumps are original pumps and are at their useful life and will need to be changed based on the new parameters. In addition, the new chiller and pumps and additional 500 ton cell cooling tower will need to be provided to the current 1,000 ton cooling tower to provide the required 1,500 ton total. Provide a new water filtering system. System shall be compliant with existing County water filtering system. This scope outlines the work associated with the supply, installation, startups and commissioning of a new water filtering system for the existing and new Chillers. All work for the system will be performed under contract allowance and subject to adjustment based on final approved equipment, field conditions, and actual installation requirements.
