Dansville Schools is requesting sealed bids for a Classroom Renovation Project. Question Deadline 02/12/2026 at 5:00 PM ET Submit questions online. The Bidder shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, tools, transportation, supervision, and incidentals necessary to complete the renovations described herein for Room 109. Room 109 is a preschool classroom so some of the adjustments being made are to update the needs of the classroom from an adult size small to a preschool sized space. The Bidder shall prepare a tentative construction schedule for review and approval by the Owner and shall coordinate all work to minimize disruption to school operations. Access to the building will be coordinated through the District. The Bidder is responsible for daily site cleanup and proper disposal of all debris, materials, and waste generated by this project. Part of this project may be funded using grant funds and the final project start will be based on grant fund availability. Room 109 - Base Scope of Work The Bidder shall perform the following work in Room 109: 1. Remove existing flooring and casework. 2. Surface Preparation o Prepare ceiling and wall surfaces as required for painting including patching, sanding and priming as required. 3. Flooring o Install new flooring. 1. The District seeks a durable, resilient flooring system suitable for a preschool classroom that can withstand daily use from chairs, toys, and active students. The flooring must provide cushioned underfoot comfort for safe play, sitting, and floor-based activities, while offering slip resistance, sound reduction, and ease of cleaning. Proposed flooring solutions should be continuous, noninterlocking surfaces (e.g., sheet goods or glue-down planks/tiles) and represent a cost-effective approach that balances performance, safety, and maintenance. 2. Final color of flooring to be determined by the Owner at post bid meeting. 3. Bidder should include in their proposal a color palette to choose from that will be allowed within the cost of the proposal. 4. Painting o Paint ceiling and walls. o All paint products shall be suitable for educational environments. o Final color will be determined by the Owner at post bid meeting. Casework Installation o Remove existing casework and install new casework. New casework shall be preschool age appropriate and ADA compliant where applicable, in accordance with current ADA standards. Final layout to be coordinated with district at post bid meeting. 6. Plumbing Allowance o Include a plumbing allowance sufficient to relocate and lower one sink. The current sink needs to be lowered to accommodate preschool aged children. 7. Cleanup o Remove all construction-related debris and leave space in clean condition. Room 109 - Bid Alternates Bidders shall provide pricing for the following alternates: o Alternate 109-A: Replace existing hardware on bathroom door; add kickplate. o Alternate 109-B: Install Taraflex or approved equal flooring in lieu of standard flooring. Approved equal products must meet or exceed the performance, warranty, and suitability standards of the specified product and are subject to District approval. o Alternate 109-C: Replace existing shelves, coat hooks, and cabinets. o Alternate 109-D: Replace existing lights with dimmable lighting fixtures compliant with current electrical codes. o Alternate 109-E: Replace existing toilet with smaller/lower toilet.
