The work generally includes the replacement and/or installation of the electric service and all other associated work as specified and shown on the drawings at Tamaques Elementary School, Wilson Elementary School, Roosevelt Intermediate School, and Westfield High School. Bidders must use and complete all required bid forms and comply with every requirement contained in the instructions and specifications. Bids are to be marked in a sealed envelope with the project name plainly marked on the front and delivered to the Business Administrator. Neither the Board of Education nor the Architect assumes responsibility for bids mailed or misdirected. No bids will be received by facsimile or electronic transmission, and it is the bidder's responsibility to ensure bids are received prior to the scheduled opening time. Any received late will be returned unopened. Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the bid, not to exceed $20,000. Bidders must comply with the requirements for "The Law Against Discrimination" and Affirmative Action. All bidders and named subcontractors (including joint ventures) must possess current and effective Public Works Contractor Registration Certificates as of the bid opening date. A bidder or subcontractor without a valid certificate as of the bid opening date will be ineligible for contract award. Bidders and named subcontractors must also have a valid Business Registration Certificate prior to contract award. Bidders are encouraged to submit copies of these certificates with their bids. Bidders must be classified by the New Jersey Department of the Treasury, Division of Property Management and Construction in Electrical (C047). Subcontractors for major branches specified must be prequalified and submit proof of prequalification and affidavits as required. Bidders on any debarment lists are ineligible. All bidders must comply with Prevailing Wage Rate Determination and all requirements of the Public School Contracts Law. No bid may be withdrawn for sixty days from bid opening. The Board of Education reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive immaterial defects or informality, or award in whole or in part. Ambiguities, errors, or omissions noted by bidders together with all questions and requests for clarifications pertaining to this Request for Bids shall be submitted via e-mail to the attention of the Architect via email at info@fkarch.com by no later than February 6, 2026 at 2:00 pm. In the event a bidder fails to notify the Architect of any ambiguities, errors or omissions, the bidder shall be bound by the requirements of the Request for Bids and the bidder's submitted bid. Attached hereto are the specificationsfor the project. The project shall be completed no later than August 20, 2027. All time limits stated in the contract are of the essence.
