As of April 30, 2026, the project was awarded to Michigan Paving and Materials Co, with an awarded amount of $219,092.25 . 0.60 miles of trail rehabilitation, including clearing, pavement and root removal, and pavement replacement. All proposals must comply with Federal and State nondiscrimination laws. The successful bidder must provide a 100% performance bond as well as labor and material bond. Each proposal must include a certified check or bidder's bond for at least five percent (5%) of the proposal amount. Proposals without the required certified check or bidder's bond will not be accepted. The City reserves the right to reject any or all proposals, waive irregularities in proposals, and accept the proposal deemed most advantageous to the City. No bid may be withdrawn for thirty (30) days after the bid opening. PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Rehabilitate existing HMA trail from Fort St (station 0+00) to Bond St (station 31+70) as described in this document and as directed by the engineer or owner. Primary work includes clearing; removal, undercut, and replacement of existing HMA paved path. The contractor shall have access to the trail from the north, using the south end of an existing parking lot for staging, and also from the south, using a vacant lot at the northeast corner of Fort St. and S. 3 rd St. Intent of the Contract Documents The contract documents are complementary, and what is called for by any one shall be as binding as if called for by all. The intention of the contract document is to include in the contract price the cost of all labor and materials, water, fuel, plant, equipment, light, transportation and all other expenses as may be necessary for the proper execution of the work. In interpreting the contract documents, words describing materials or work which have a well-known technical or trade meaning, unless otherwise specifically defined in the contract documents, shall be construed in accordance with such well-known meaning recognized by architects, engineers and the trade.
