Sealed proposals will be received only from previously pre-qualified general contractors for the Ashville Fire Station #2 project for the Ashville Fire Department. Proposals must be accompanied by a cashier's check or bid bond payable to The City of Ashville in an amount not less than five percent of the bid, but not more than $10,000. Performance and statutory labor and material payment bonds, as well as insurance in compliance with requirements, will be required at contract signing. Drawings and specifications may be examined at the office of the architect, online, or at plan rooms. Only general contractors licensed according to the State Licensing Board for General Contractors will be considered. A pre-bid conference is mandatory for all general contractor bidders and is highly recommended for subcontractors. All plan holders intending to submit a bid must submit a written registration with the architect prior to bidding. The project will be bid excluding taxes, requiring completion of tax exemption forms as described. The owner reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive technical errors and bid process if judged to be in the best interest of the owner.
