Performs structural, mechanical, and electrical repairs to correct deficiencies in the Oak Street Steam Tunnel between Station Mark 000 (near the intersection with Gregory Drive) and Station Mark 700 (south of the intersection with Stadium Drive). Includes civil and traffic control work to support the structural repairs. Sealed bids will be accepted electronically. MBE/WBE/PBE 30% Project Location: Oak Street, from the Gregory Drive intersection, south through the Stadium Drive intersection to near the entrance to the Oak Street Chiller Plant parking lot. Project location: Work shall be performed under this Contract on the campus of the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, Urbana, IL 61801 section under Oak street. B. General description of work: This project will address the repair of deteriorated tunnel roofs, walls, and floors, as well as the restoration of damaged pipe supports, anchors, and guides. In addition, each location will include incidental work such as waterproofing, electrical lighting systems, ventilation systems, and pipe insulation jacketing as needed. Tunnel repairs may involve partial or full- depth restoration depending on the extent of damage. 1.5 CONTRACT DESCRIPTION A. General Construction: 1. Repair structural concrete as specified in the project drawing set. 2. Repair piping, pipe supports, and pipe insulation as specified in the project drawing set. 3. Repair electrical components as specified in the project drawings. 4. Design and install earth retention system as required by drawings. 5. Restore areas disturbed as a result of construction-related activities by grading to match existing conditions and as shown on Drawings. 6. Provide site restoration, including asphalt paving disturbed during the installation of the new utilities and the corresponding construction-related activities, as shown on Drawings. B.
