A. The Work of Project is defined by the Contract Documents and includes, but is not limited to, the following B. The primary scope work in this project is an a new 40'x110' pre-engineered metal building on the north side of the existing Skyline School campus. The majority of the space will be shop space, and the rest of the building will include a classroom, office, storage rooms, and (2) toilets. There will be a mezzanine above these other spaces for light storage and mechanical equipment. C. Type of Contract: 1. Project will be constructed under a single prime contract. Sealed proposals are requested for the Skyline AG Shop, Scottsboro, Alabama, to be received by Jackson County Schools. A cashier's check or bid bond payable to Jackson County Schools, in an amount not less than five percent of the bid (but not more than $10,000), must accompany each bid. Performance and Payment Bonds, and evidence of insurance as required in the bid documents, will be required at contract signing. Bid documents may be obtained electronically for free, or physical copies may be ordered and picked up at a designated location. Bids must be submitted on forms provided by the Architect. All bidders exceeding the threshold set by the State Licensing Board for General Contractors must be licensed under Alabama law, and license numbers must be clearly displayed on the sealed bid envelope. Nonresident bidders must provide a written opinion from an attorney in their state regarding contract preferences. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive technical errors if it is in their best interest. A non-mandatory pre-bid conference will be held electronically and in person, and the attending company representative must be qualified and experienced in the relevant construction.
