WWPS identified and developed two major projects in their Stage II Necessity of Construction application to RIDE. The application has been approved and WWPS is now proceeding with the development of Stage III Design Review submission. The proposed project includes the construction of an addition and interior renovations to the Maise E. Quinn located at 1 Brown St, West Warwick, Rl 02893, an addition and interior renovation to the West Warwick High School located at 1 Webster Knight Drive, West Warwick, Rl 02893, and an elevator/vestibule addition to the Horgan Elementary School located at 124 Providence Street, West Warwick, Rl 02893 Maisie Quinn Elementary School will include renovation of an existing one-story building and the construction of a new addition to the building for a total scope of 69,693 gross square feet for the Town of West Warwick, Rl. The facility will provide space for 480 students in Pre-K through fifth grade. The proposed plan offers enhancements to safety and security, accessibility, code and life safety, the modernization of existing educational spaces and programmatic improvements such as collaborative breakout spaces, meeting spaces, a dedicated gymnasium and increased specialized education areas. Mechanical upgrades throughout the building are to include a Dedicated Outdoor Air System to serve each portion of the school, and classrooms and offices to receive VRF units. Natural gas boilers will be replaced as part of this project. The exterior renovation scope will include a replacement roof and exterior windows but will largely remain the same aesthetically. The exterior of the new construction building addition will utilize brick/masonry on steel frame is a primary material with the intent of matching the existing building. Entryway vestibules will be aluminum storefront. Curtainwall systems will be utilized in the Gymnasium to introduce natural daylight into the double height space. The successful firm must provide all services necessary to comply with the Rl Department of Education of Necessity of School Construction Application Stage III and Stage IV. It is the responsibility of the offeror to familiarize themselves with these regulatory requirements.
