Remodeling of an educational facility in West Warwick, Rhode Island. Completed plans call for the remodel of a educational facility.

The West Warwick School Committee is soliciting bids for Greenbush Elementary School Millwork. Specifications are available in person at the Office of Property Services located at 20 Junior Street, West Warwick between 8:00 am and 2:00 pm, by calling 401-822-8443, or on the website. Sealed bids will be received at the West Warwick Public Schools Administration Building, 10 Harris Avenue, West Warwick until 1:00 pm on Monday, 5/11/2026, at which time bids will be opened publicly. The West Warwick School Committee reserves the right to reject any or all bids. Individuals requesting interpreter services for the hearing impaired must notify the Business Office at 401-821-3010 no later than two business days prior to the bid opening. 1) Provide all labor, equipment, and materials necessary for the fabrication and installation of new millwork, cabinetry, and countertops in each classroom at Greenbush Elementary School. Work shall include, but not be limited to, furnishing of new cabinets, countertops, hardware, and all associated installation components required for a complete and operational system. (a) The Owner shall be responsible for the demolition and removal of existing cabinetry, millwork, countertops, and associated materials, unless otherwise noted. (b) There are thirty-three (33) classrooms included in the base scope of work that will require new millwork, cabinetry, and countertops. It shall be the responsibility of the Bidder to obtain accurate field measurements for each classroom prior to fabrication. 2) Bidder is responsible for the removal and proper disposal of all millwork, countertops, debris, and associated materials resulting from this work, unless otherwise directed by the Owner. 3) All new millwork, cabinetry, and countertops shall be suitable for a K- 5 educational environment, and designed to withstand daily classroom use. Materials, finishes, and construction methods shall meet or exceed applicable codes, standards, and manufacturer recommendations. 4) Bidders shall provide an overall lump sum cost for the complete scope of work. If requested by the Owner, bidders may also be required to provide unit pricing or a cost breakdown per classroom. 5) All measurements shall be verified by the awarded Bidder(s). 6) To obtain approval of unspecified or "equal" materials or products, written requests from bidders shall be submitted to Christopher Mann, Director of Facilities & Transportation, at least five (5) days prior to the day of the bid opening. Requests shall clearly state: (1) Project name; (2) Name of the specified product; (3) Name of the proposed product for substitution, along with complete documentary literature itemized in detail as to its equivalency or superiority to the specified product. If the product is accepted, its approval will be indicated in an addendum for all bidders to be notified. If no requests for equal or approved equal materials are made within the stated time frame, then only those manufacturers' products and/or materials specified shall be acceptable for use. The Bidder must satisfy themself by their own investigation and research regarding all conditions affecting the work to be done and the labor and materials needed, and make his Bid in sole reliance thereon, and shall not at any time after the submission of the Bid, assert that there was any misunderstanding in regard to the nature or amount of the work to be done.
