The project consists of the construction of sections of the Knox & Kane Trail in McKean County, specifically the rails-to-trails conversion of an old railroad bed into a shared use trail. The work generally includes construction of approximately 18,500 linear feet of new 10-foot wide stone dust trail; clearing and grubbing a 20-foot wide trail construction/pedestrian unloading area; 4,600 linear feet of drainage channel construction; installation of over 250 feet of culvert pipe with delineation stakes; eight driveway crossings; and associated site improvements. Bids must be submitted online through the PennBid platform, accompanied by a bid security of not less than 10% in the form of a Certified Check or Bid Bond made out to the Pennsylvania Environmental Council (PEC). The successful bidder will be required to pay a PennBid Program fee of 1/3% of the contract award value.
