Water Main Replacement Project 47th Avenue: South Railroad Avenue to Randolph Street Bohland Avenue: Butterfield Road to St. Charles Place Village of Bellwood (Cook County, Illinois) roposals Must Be Submitted on the Form Provided. All Proposals or Bids Offered Must Be Accompanied by a Bid Bond, a Certified or Cashier's Check Made Payable to the President and the Board of Trustees of the Village of Bellwood in the Amount of Not Less Than Ten Percent (10%) of the Total Amount of the Proposal as a Guarantee That if the Proposal is Accepted, a Contract Will Be Entered Into and the Performance of the Contract is Properly Secured. No Bid Shall Be Withdrawn After the Opening of the Proposals Without the Consent of the President and the Board of Trustees of the Village of Bellwood for a Period of 30 Days After the Scheduled Time of Closing Bids. This project shall consist of retiring six inch (6") diameter water main and installing eight (8") diameter ductile iron water main pipe on 47th Avenue and Bohland Avenue in the village of Bellwood (Cook County, IL). Improvements on 47th Avenue will begin at South Railroad Avenue and end at Randolph Street. Bohland Avenue improvements will begin at Butterfield Road and end at St. Charles Place. Proposed improvements shall consist of abandoning the existing water main, installing eight inch (8") water main, new valves, valve vaults, fire hydrant assemblies, copper water service lines for short side and long side services, the replacement of lead water service lines from the curb stop valve into the building structure, directional boring ductile iron water main pipe beneath roadway pavement, replacement of storm sewer structures and sewer pipe, structure adjustments, intermittent replacement of curbs, sidewalks, driveway aprons, driveway pavement and pavement, installation of detectable warning panels, placement of Class D pavement patching, hot-mix asphalt binder and surface course, thermoplastic pavement markings and landscape restoration. An Explanation of the Applicable Federal Requirements Previously Mentioned is Provided in the Special Provisions of the Bid Specifications. The Successful Bidder Will Be Required to File a Performance Bond Equal to One Hundred Percent (100%) of the Bid, With Sureties to Be Approved by the President and Board of Trustees, Which Performance Bonds Shall Be Conditioned Upon Proper and Faithful Performance by the Contractor of Work Specified in Accordance With the Plans and Specification Therefore, According to the Time and Terms and Conditions of the Contract; and Also That the Bidder and Contractor Shall Properly Pay All Debts Incurred by the Contractor in the Execution of the Work, Including Those for Labor and Materials Furnished. Applicable Federal Requirements All Laborers and Mechanics Employed by Contractor or Subcontractor(S) on Construction Work for This Project Shall Be Paid Wages at Rates Not Less Than Those Prevailing on Similar Construction in the Locality as Determined by the Secretary of Labor in Accordance With the Davis-bacon Act as Amended The Contractor Shall Be Required to Furnish Sufficient Insurance or Guaranty of Indemnity to the Village of Bellwood, Illinois, the County of Cook, Illinois, and the Engineer Against Any and All Claims Which Might Arise for Damages to Persons or Property Due to the Negligence of the Contractor or Subcontractors, or Their Officers, Agents, Employees or Servants, During the Construction of Said Improvement and Until the Said Improvement Has Been Finally Accepted as Complete by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Bellwood, Illinois. The Contractor and Subcontractor Shall Comply With All Regulations Issued Pursuant to Prevailing Wage Act (820 Ilcs 130), and Other Applicable Federal Laws and Regulations Pertaining to Labor Standards. Proposals Must Be Submitted on the Forms Provided. No Proposals Will Be Issued After 4:00 P.m. On the 20th Day of March 2026.
