The work consists of the complete removal of City-owned trees located at specified locations in Evergreen Park. This includes all labor, machinery, and equipment required to safely and skillfully remove the trees and dispose of all materials lawfully. The contractor must cut the stumps to a height of approximately 3 inches above grade and provide advance notification to the City Forester before beginning work. No work can occur on weekends or holidays without specific permission from the City Forester. Contractors are responsible for surveying the trees to determine clearances from structures and utilities, and for providing a safe removal plan. Utmost care must be taken when working with heavy equipment in the park, including the use of plywood or protective matting to avoid turf damage. Bidders must submit bid security equal to 5% of the bid amount and provide a performance and payment bond equivalent to 100% of the bid price. A photocopy of the bid bond or certified check must be included in the electronic bid submission. Bidders must also file a Bidders Proof of Responsibility with the City Engineer at least five days prior to the bid due date. Bids must be submitted electronically with the project title in the subject line. Bids received after the specified time or from bidders without approved Proof of Responsibility will not be considered. All bids must remain in effect for at least 60 days beyond the bid due date. The City reserves the right to reject any bids, cancel the solicitation, waive informalities, and award the bid deemed most advantageous to the City.
