Site work for an educational facility in Scituate, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for site work for a educational facility.
Sealed bids are invited for the procurement and installation of a second generator at Gates Middle School. Bidders who have not previously attended the site walk for this project must arrange for a mandatory site visit prior to submitting a bid. Bid deposit of 5% of the value of the bid and 100% payment bond and 100% performance bond are required for contract execution. DCAMM certification in the work category of Mechanical Systems and an Update Statement are required. Bids must remain firm for thirty days, excluding Saturdays, Sundays, and Holidays. The Town of Scituate reserves the right to reject any or all bids, in part or in whole, as may be determined to be in the best interest of the Town. Prices quoted must be in effect from the date of award. The Town is an equal opportunity employer and supports Women and Minority owned Business Enterprises. The proposed scope of work includes the installation of a new 150 kW natural gas generator to supplement an existing 250 kW diesel generator currently serving the Gates Middle School, specifically the spaces in the middle school serving as the new shelter. The new generator will be set on a new concrete pad, which will be graded/leveled, formed and poured by the installer. A new automatic transfer switch will be installed and connected to the new generator. A new 600A breaker will be installed in in MSB-MS to feed the new ATS, and then feed a newly installed 600A panelboard. A new 75 kVA transformer will be installed to feed KPP1D, and will be fed from a new panelboard 3/100. Form MSB-MS circuits 15, 16 and 17 will be removed and installed in the new 600A panelboard. Trenching will be done from the existing building to the new generator. The new generator will be situated adjacent to the existing generator, just to the south. Filing of intent is not required but may be helpful. Questions may be directed to cmacdonald@scituatema.gov . Be aware that all bidders are required to attend the mandatory site visit prior to submitting a bid. A site visit is not necessary for those bidders who previously attended one for this project. Daylight is required to view the site.
