Renovation of a residential development in Rock Island, Illinois. Completed plans call for the renovation of a residential development.
The City of Rock Island is requesting bids from contractors for a rehabilitation project . This owner-occupied property will be undergoing rehabilitation using Housing and Urban Development (HUD) funds to ameliorate deteriorating and deteriorated conditions. All work shall be subject to HUD 35.930 and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations. The bidder shall submit a project plan using the design standards below that is in compliance with all applicable HUD, EPA, and State of Illinois regulations as well as all local building and zoning codes. The plan must include a clear project timeline and budget with line item costs. The contractor shall act as the general contractor for the project using subcontractors as required. Subcontractors that will be required should be clearly identified in the project plan. This project has had previously sewer repairs done in the past few months. At that time a camera was ran through locating the issues replacing the cast iron section with PVC. This project will start from where the new PVC was connected to the existing cast iron on the berm close to the manhole. The contractor will need to excavate around the manhole and find the area around the new PVC. An approved connection will be made and new line shall be ran to the manhole through the existing penetration where the cast iron previously entered. The new lateral line will need to be turned down and extend down to just above the flow line of the main. The vertical lateral must be permanently supported inside the manhole with approved materials. This manhole has a vertical drop possibly near the 25' mark. The existing steel lid for the man hole cover does not seat down in the steel ring due to previous damage. The steel collar will need to be replaced and possible the lid to insure that the cover will fully seat down. Plumbing and Excavation Permit are required before the work begins. Alternative specifications shall be considered only if they are clearly justified, cost effective, and meet all project objectives. The contractor shall have 30 days to complete the work from the date of contract signing. Change work orders over the course of the project are strongly discouraged.
