Remodeling of an educational facility in Brooklyn, New York. Completed plans call for the remodel of a educational facility.
The work involves Low-Voltage Electrical Systems at PS 308 (Brooklyn). Contractors must be prequalified by the SCA at the time of bid opening. The scope involves HVAC and Electrical Work. All proposed HVAC and Electrical “Wicks” trade subcontractors must be prequalified and not disqualified, suspended, or ineligible at the time of bid opening. Bidders must include with their bid the names of all proposed “Wicks” trade subcontractors and estimates for each required trade, or their own name and an estimate if they intend to perform the work themselves. Bidders intending to perform electrical or plumbing work with their own forces must be properly licensed in New York City. For HVAC, evidence of technical capability must be furnished upon request. The work is subject to a Project Labor Agreement (PLA); the lowest responsive and responsible bidder and its subcontractors must become signatory to, and comply with, the PLA. The performance period is 540 continuous calendar days. Bidders must include an allowance of $20,000 in their Lump Sum Bid as specified in Technical Specification Section S01010, Article 1.03 and Drawing T002. A bid bond or certified check equal to 5% of the bid amount must accompany the bid. Only prequalified contractors will be awarded contracts. All contractors and subcontractors must register with the Department of Labor and provide a copy of the Certificate of Registration with their bid.
