Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Olivet, Michigan. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.
Resolution of Tentative Contract Award March 2026 The project involves full roadway reconstruction and utility upgrades on Summer Street, Winter Street, and Spring Street. The work includes HMA (hot mixed asphalt) removal and replacement, installation of curb and gutter, water main replacement, water services, storm sewer replacement, drainage improvements, sidewalk improvements, driveway approaches, signage, pavement markings, restoration, and various appurtenances. Bidders are required to submit a certified check or bank draft on a solvent Michigan bank or a satisfactory bid bond in the amount of 5 percent of the bid. No bids may be withdrawn for at least ninety days following the scheduled closing time. The successful bidder must provide a Performance Bond and a Labor and Material Bond, each for 100 percent of the contract price. Contractors and subcontractors must pay not less than the prevailing wage rates established by the U.S. Department of Labor and comply with applicable laws including the Davis Bacon Act, Equal Employment Opportunity Act, relevant Department of Labor regulations, the "Anti-Kickback Act," and the Federal Occupational Safety and Health Act. The use of local contractors and labor is encouraged. Contractors should make every effort to ensure minorities and women are employed and local businesses are given contract opportunities to the maximum extent feasible.
