Renovation of a municipal facility in Webster, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.
The project consists of the replacement of concrete sidewalk, a concrete handicap ramp, and handrails. Resetting/repointing of select granite steps, handrail repair, and installation of exterior drainage and a sump pump are also included. The estimated construction cost is $300,000. Bids must be accompanied by a bid security in the amount of 5% of the bid price, provided by a BID BOND, CASHIER's, TREASURER's, or CERTIFIED CHECK issued by a responsible bank or trust company. The successful bidder must furnish a performance bond and a payment bond, each in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract Price, from a surety company qualified to do business in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Bidders shall certify that they do not, and will not maintain or provide for their employees any facility segregated on the basis of race, color, creed, or national origin. Attention is directed to requirements regarding employment conditions, minimum wage rates, and affirmative action to ensure equal employment opportunity. Wages paid to employees must comply with the minimums established by the Commissioner of Labor and the weekly payroll record submittal requirements under Massachusetts General Laws, c.149, Sections 26 through 27F inclusive. The Contractor must comply with the requirements of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Disadvantaged Business Enterprise Program and Affirmative Action requirements in connection with Equal Employment Opportunities. Selection of the contractor will be based on qualifications, evidence of past performance in similar projects, and bid price. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsible and eligible bidder. The Town reserves the right to waive any informalities to accept or reject, in whole or in part, any or all bids, or take whatever other action may be deemed in its best interest.
