The work consists essentially of the construction of concrete pavement and sidewalk, as well as all other related items of work required to complete the project as shown and specified in the Contract Documents. This includes furnishing all labor, equipment, and materials necessary for the construction. The contractor is responsible for performing all work and supplying all required resources according to the specifications and the drawings referenced. All interested bidders must obtain the bid documents by registering at www.neel-schafferplans.com. Bid documents are non-refundable and must be purchased through this website. Each bid must be accompanied by a Certified Check or Bidder's Bond in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total bid price, payable to the City of McComb as bid security. Bidders may be required to submit a current financial statement if requested. The successful bidder must furnish a performance and payment bond equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract amount, signed or countersigned by a Mississippi Resident Agent. The proposal and contract documents must be submitted in a sealed envelope and deposited with the City of McComb prior to the designated hour and date. Bidders must agree to commence work on or before the date specified in the "Notice to Proceed" and to fully complete the project within the contract time. The bidder must also agree to pay liquidated damages as specified for each calendar day of overrun in contract time. Work must comply with the 2017 Edition of the Mississippi State Highway Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction and any applicable amendments, special provisions, or addenda. The City of McComb reserves the right to reject any or all proposals, waive technicalities or irregularities, or advertise for new proposals.
