Huntington County has been awarded an Owner-Occupied Rehabilitation grant for $500,000, including local matching funds, to support home repair and improvement. Licensed contractors are invited to submit bids for qualified homes in Huntington County and provide rehabilitation services, which include roof repair or replacement, heating and cooling (HVAC), water heater replacement, lighting and electrical upgrades, and ADA accessibility upgrades. Contractors must submit proof of insurance, provide a 3-year extended warranty to the homeowner, and show financial capability to complete projects. Payment will be made upon satisfactory completion of the project. The maximum award per homeowner is $25,000. Contracts will be awarded on a competitive bid basis, using qualifications, price, and the ability to meet the construction schedule as scoring factors. There is a Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) and Women’s Business Enterprise (WBE) participation goal of 10%, and contractors should demonstrate efforts to meet or exceed this goal in their bids. Interested contractors should provide information on their firm and capabilities to provide the specified services.
