Sealed bids are invited for the following items for the Highway Department for the year 2026: 1) 30,000 tons or 20,000 yards Maintenance Gravel and Sand, 2) 50,000 tons or less Maintenance Stone and Sand, 3) Ten or less Complete Poured / Pre-stressed Concrete Bridges, 4) MFBM Pressure Treated Timber Bridge Materials, 5) Bituminous Coated Aggregate Winter Mixture, 6) HAC Base, Binder, and Surface; HAE Base, Binder, and Surface; and Stockpiled Cold Mixed Bituminous Coated Aggregate Base. Specifications are available at the Huntington County Highway Garage. Each item bid must be submitted in a separate envelope that shows the Item Number and must be in duplicate, on prescribed forms obtainable at the Huntington County Auditor's Office. Each bid must be accompanied by a Bidder's Bond or Certified Check equal to ten percent (10%) of the total bid, except for petroleum products, which do not require a bond. Bid bonds for bridges are 10% of 50,000 or $5000. Awarded bidders must provide approved performance bonds equal to ten percent (10%) of the total bid, except for petroleum products. All checks or bonds must be payable to the Huntington County Commissioners. The Commissioners reserve the right to reject any and all bids and to waive minor inconsistencies. Current INDOT Standard Specifications apply where applicable. Bids must include certification or proof of authorization to do business in Indiana. Petroleum product bids may include an escalator clause allowing contract unit price increases equal to the bidder's cost increases, verified by documentation. Prices must be current at bid letting. Petroleum products should be bid by price per ton. A bid from a trust must identify each beneficiary and the settlor empowered to revoke or modify the trust. Delivery time and availability will be considered.
