The City of Valdosta has approximately 7 trees at Sunset Hill Cemetery that they would like taken down, the stumps grinded below ground level, and pruning dead tree branches. Although we would like every tree on the list done, funding may not allow for the entire list. The city plans to work through the list starting at #1 until all are done or we have depleted all current funding for this project. The City reserves the right to select certain trees out of order if funding does not allow for all trees to be cut. The city requires each tree cut down to 6" above ground level and cut into 5' sections for handling purposes. Stumps must be ground below ground level. The city will be responsible for removing the debris at our own expense but would like each tree to be piled together and not strewn all over. The utmost care must be taken in the work area to protect the buildings, monuments, fencing, other vegetative growth, and any other items that are in close proximity to each work area. Some of the monuments are very old and irreplaceable. All cost associated with any damage will be at contractor's expense. Award will be made to the vendor quoting the best price or the vendor that includes the most trees for the best value. The City reserves the right to refuse all bids or award the bid in the City's opinion to be in our best interest. The City of Valdosta reserves the right to accept any or all bids or to choose the bid considered to be in their best interest.
