As of February 23, 2026, this project has not yet been awarded. A timeline for the award has not yet been established. Clare Public Schools is accepting proposals for the purchase, delivery, and installation of exterior site fencing replacement at the Brookwood Athletic Complex. The existing site fencing and gates are to be removed completely, and new 6'-0" black coated fencing and framing, including black PVC coated gates and components, shall be installed per all applicable codes. The contractor will be responsible for an all-inclusive, turnkey scope of the exterior site fencing and gate replacement, including 100 percent of the fencing and gate removal and replacement. The contractor is to restore the site to its original condition upon completion. Scope of Work: 1. Complete removal of existing fencing, gates, foundations, and accessories and replacement with new black PVC fence, gates, foundations, and components in similar locations. 2. Removal and replacement of approximately 700' of 6'-0" high perimeter chain link fence. 3. Fencing and gate replacement to be completed in manageable sections, maintaining site boundaries and access. 4. Contractor is responsible for all excavation work and must call Miss Dig before starting to identify underground utilities, and coordinate with the owner for the same. 5. Design and manufacturing must comply with local and State of Michigan Building Codes. 6. Contractor is responsible for foundation design based on soil conditions and for restoration of the site at no additional cost for damage repair. 7. Posts poured in concrete are to be a minimum of 12" diameter and 50" below grade with bell house opening at the base of the hole. Concrete shall be held 6" below surface level. Posts pushed into soils without concrete must be a minimum of 60" below grade. 8. Driveway gates (2) are to be 40' double drive slide gates with nylon rollers and minimum 4" SPS 40 posts. 9. Fencing is to be 2" x 9ga knuckle-knuckle style with black coating. Top rail is to be 1.88" 40 weight. Terminal posts shall be 3" x SPS 40, line posts 2.5" x SPS 40, spaced not more than 10' on center. All fittings shall be steel. 10. Voluntary alternates/deducts may be considered. Instructions to bidders include reading the entire document, submitting bids exclusive of taxes, using sealed envelopes, providing evidence of ability when necessary, certifying compliance with laws, not subletting or assigning without written approval, supplying insurance certificates as requested, assuming all costs of bid preparation, including a 50' lineal fencing price, enunciating any exceptions or special conditions, inquiring about unclear requirements, and submitting work for completion and invoicing by 6/30/26. Shop drawings for all fence and gate construction must be submitted at least one week before work begins, workmanship must have a two-year warranty from substantial completion, and all manufacturer warranties shall apply.
