Norfolk County is seeking bids for the replacement of one stationary 6000 psi Mako breathing air compressor modules and components, one Mako air storage system or equivalent, and one SCBA (self-contained breathing apparatus) recharging system (Fill station). The scope includes removal and disposal of existing units at Simcoe Fire Station, supply and installation of a new breathing air compressor module (minimum charging capacity of 14 CFM, 10hp, 6000 PSI, at least three-stage compressor block, carbon monoxide and moisture monitor, automatic condensate drain, sound-attenuated enclosure, easy-access purification system, anti-vibration mounts, automatic control system), an air storage system with four vertical 6000psi cylinders (UN or ASME approved), a vertical mounting rack, and a fill station for SCBA cylinders that meets or exceeds CSA Z180.1-13 with specified safety and operational features. The Bidder must obtain permits, perform required modifications (excluding electrical), restore any damaged areas, provide all labour/parts for a two-year warranty, arrange for inspection/testing by a certificated technician, and ensure operational certification including 3rd-party air sample testing. All components must comply with Ontario legislation and standards (NFPA 1500, 1989; OSHA; CSA Z180.1-13). The successful Bidder must provide training for Fire Department staff, supply operation and maintenance manuals, coordinate installation with other trades, and ensure all equipment is installed simultaneously without voiding existing warranties. Work should be completed by July 1, 2026. Instructions to Bidders: - All submissions must be made electronically through the Bidding System. - Bidders must have a system vendor account and be registered as a Plan Taker. - Only one bid per bidder will be accepted. - Mandatory submissions include a Submission Form, Schedule of Items and Prices, Proof of Ability and Reference Form; non-mandatory: list of proposed subcontractors. - Rates are to be quoted in Canadian funds, all-inclusive except for HST. - Performance security in the form of a cheque, draft, letter of credit or money order for $3,700 is required before work begins. - The successful bidder must provide insurance certificates, WSIB clearance, AODA compliance, final list of subcontractors and suppliers, and a health and safety policy before starting work. - Bids are irrevocable for 90 days after the deadline. - The contract term is three months. Only one legal entity will be contracted. - The successful bidder must sign the agreement and satisfy conditions within fifteen days of selection notice.
