Sealed bids are invited for the Clifty Creek Elementary School Re-Roof project. The work consists of all labor, material, and services necessary to complete the project in strict accordance with the construction drawings and project manual. The project is to be constructed under a Single Prime Contract with bids received on a lump sum basis. Prime bidders and their subcontractors must be certified and in compliance with the Indiana General Assembly's House Enrollment Act #1019. Where trade names, brand names, or manufacturers' names are used, they are for the purpose of establishing kind and quality, not to limit competition. Bidders may offer items or materials equal in quality and durability if they first receive written approval from the Architect/Engineer prior to the bid opening and comply with the requirements of the Instructions to Bidders. Such substitutions must be identified by name, kind, and type with the bid. A contract will be awarded to the lowest responsible and responsive bidder, in accordance with the conditions of the Instructions to Bidders and the Advertisements for Public Bids, and Indiana's Public Work Projects Act. The owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any informalities, discrepancies, omissions, variances, or irregularities in bids received at its sole discretion. Bidders must hold their bids open for a minimum of sixty (60) days from the bid opening date. Each bid must include a bid security of five percent (5%) of the base bid, in the form of a certified check or a bid bond payable to Bartholomew Consolidated School Corporation. The successful bidder will be required to provide a 100% Performance Bond and Labor and Material Payment Bond, equal to the contract price, which must comply with all laws of the State of Indiana governing public contracts let by governmental units.
