Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Bakersfield, California. Completed plans call for site work for a fire / police facility; sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.

The project, in general, consist of remove and dispose of existing asphalt paving as outlined in the attached exhibit A detailed scope of work and Exhibit B site map o Project to comply with all state and local laws for public works projects, which shall include Kern County Building Permits if necessary. o Remove and dispose of approximately 38,000 square feet of 4"/3" asphalt, as designated by the blue and teal sections on the map. Contractor to field verify exact square footage during job walk. o Fine grade, roll and compact existing road base and provide new 4" thick asphalt, approximately 35,000 square feet, as designated by the blue section on the map. Approximately 3,000 square feet of 3" asphalt at parking stalls in front of the administration building (South of the existing valley gutter) as designated by teal section. Contractor to field verify exact square footage during job walk. o Form, pour and finish new concrete valley gutter with rebar, as shown by the yellow section on the attached map. 3' x approximately 200' x 8" thick concrete valley gutter. Contractor to verify actual length. o Remove existing ADA ramp in front of Administration building, as indicated by red section. Form, pour and finish new ADA ramp with truncated dome. o Fog seal new asphalt with SS 1-H oil. o Provide striping for 17 parking stalls and one handicap parking stall, in front of the administration building. o Install approximately 160' of 2"x4" redwood header board around planter in the asphalt. Contractor to verify actual length required. o Provide and install 12- 4' concrete parking blocks. Install new two-sided parallel curb ramp in existing sidewalk for access from the accessible parking aisle to the existing sidewalk. Align 60-inch-wide curb cut access with the 60-inch-wide access aisle located adjacent to accessible parking stall. Accessible parking stall and access aisle shall be 4 inch thick (min) poured-in-place concrete. Finished surface of parking stall and access aisle shall not slope more than 2% in any direction. a. Remove portion of existing vee gutter to allow parking stall and access aisle to extend a minimum of 18-feet (min.) from face of curb at sidewalk. Maintain existing slope of flow line and divert new vee-gutter around end of parking stall/aisle. b. Remove portion of existing concrete sidewalk, curb, and access ramp located in existing access aisle. Remove asphalt paving to accommodate new concrete parking stall. Sidewalk shall be removed 5-feet beyond each end of new curb ramp. New concrete sidewalk shall taper from existing walk width to match width of new curb ramp, including curb width. (Approximately 7-feet wide from outside of curb to outside of curb.) c. At accessible parking stall include: painted striping, new concrete parking bumper and parking sign on existing pole. d. Refer to sketches included at end of this Addendum for additional information. Sheets 1 through 5.
