Description

Site work, paving and new construction of a mixed-use development in Bakersfield, California. Working plans call for the construction of a educational facility.

Plans call for the complete modernization of the high school campus. The project includes construction of four conventional buildings: a gymnasium, a multipurpose/cafeteria building, an administration building, and a two-story classroom building with a library. It also includes a 1,334-square-foot prefabricated field house/concessions building, a central courtyard, basketball courts, parking, drop-off and fire lanes, outdoor lighting, and relocation of three existing ballfields. Renewable energy features, including rooftop solar panels and/or solar-covered parking, are planned to help offset the school's energy demand. This package will be building packages As of August 4, 2026, bid packages are being released in groups, with the school district managing the bidding process. Group 1, which includes earthwork and sitework, has already been bid. Group 2 is expected to go out for bid in late August to early September 2026, with Group 3 following shortly thereafter. Construction is anticipated to begin in September 2026. Contractors must hold the required ABC license prequalification to be eligible to bid on the project.
