Renovation of a playground / park / athletic field in Houston, Texas. Completed plans call for the renovation of a playground / park / athletic field.
The Downtown Redevelopment Authority is seeking proposals from contractors for Tranquillity Park Fountain Decking. The project involves the construction of composite decking and a performance platform within the existing fountain basins at Tranquillity Park in Downtown Houston. The intervention is intended to revitalize the space in a non-invasive way that preserves the integrity of the original structure. The fountain has been non-functioning for an extended period, and this project serves as a strategic first step in repositioning the fountain as an active, engaging focal point. Question Deadline 02/09/2026 at 2:00 PM CT All inquiries must be submitted in writing to Jacque Gonzalez-Garcia, Planning & Design Manager, at jacque.gonzalez@downtownhouston.org The Downtown Redevelopment Authority (DRA) is seeking proposals from (Contractors) for Tranquillity Park Fountain Decking. Tranquillity Park is a landmark civic space in Downtown Houston, named for the Sea of Tranquillity-the site of the Apollo 11 lunar landing. Over time, key park features have fallen into disrepair, including the fountain, which has been non-functioning for an extended period. This project represents a strategic first step in repositioning the fountain as an active, engaging focal point. The proposed intervention introduces composite decking and a performance platform within the existing fountain basins, revitalizing the space in a deliberately non-invasive manner that preserves the integrity of the original structure. Professional removal of metal tube railing; grinding/finishing concrete attachment points. Documentation and detailing of a composite decking system within pool basins sufficient to obtain required permits and meet specified requirements. Installation of non-invasive, load-bearing support structures fabricated with marine treated wood on which composite decking will be mounted. Installation of composite decking over fountain pools, including a reinforced integrated stage area. Installation of stainless-steel handrails along select portions of deck. See Exhibit A for additional clarity of scope. Provide three (3) recent examples of proven ability to schedule and phase work properly to minimize impact to the project owners, use of Critical Path Method scheduling and experience meeting project deadlines.
