Description

Site work and addition to a transportation facility in Sarasota, Florida. Conceptual plans call for the addition of a one-story above grade transportation facility.

The Sarasota Manatee Airport Authority seeks the professional services of a Design Build Team to provide architectural, engineering, and construction services for the expansion and upgrade of the inbound baggage claim system at Sarasota Bradenton International Airport. The project aims to increase the capacity of the baggage claim and enable work for the Multimodal Center. The selected team will be provided with as-built and/or design files for the existing bag claim area and is expected to supplement these with additional surveys and onsite data collection. The team shall complete drawings, specifications, and estimates for the expanded building and baggage carousel. Phasing plans must be evaluated to maintain operations of existing bag carousels during construction of the new system. The scope includes expanding the existing baggage claim wing, adding a fourth bag carousel, replacing the existing flat belts with slope plates, reconfiguring the unloading area to allow for dual loading, and other related elements as required. Proposals should not include information specific to baggage handling system vendors/manufacturers, as these will be determined during the design phase.
