Renovations at Wayne Thomas Elementary School consist of approximately 33,412 SF on the first floor and approximately 3,955 SF on the second floor. The work includes significant demolition, new MEPFP, equipment, finishes, a new elevator and shaft. Exterior work includes site concrete, paving, landscape, exterior window replacement, and site utilities. Bid packages cover demolition, concrete, masonry, structural and miscellaneous metal, rough carpentry, millwork and finish carpentry, roofing, glass and glazing, drywall and framing, ceramic tile, carpet and resilient flooring, wood flooring, resinous flooring, painting and wallcovering, acoustical ceilings/panels, signage, food service equipment, gym equipment, window treatments, elevators, fire suppression, plumbing, electrical/fire alarm/LV, earthwork and site utilities, site concrete and asphalt paving, and landscaping. Bidders must submit current qualifications. Bid security in the form of a bid bond equal to ten percent (10%) of the base bid is required. No other forms of bid security are accepted. Guarantee bonds in the form of a performance bond and a labor and material payment bond equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the bid are required from the awarded bidder. All work must comply with the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act, with compliance required on all wage, notice, and record-keeping duties. Wayne Thomas Elementary, North Shore School District 112, and Gilbane Building Company reserve the right to reject any or all bids. Bidders not pre-qualified in accordance with the requirements will have their bids returned unopened. Failure to comply with the requirements will result in disqualification of the bidder.
