Remodeling of a medical facility in Chester Township, Pennsylvania. Completed plans call for the remodel of a 2,200-square-foot medical facility.

Chester Housing Authority will utilize electronic bidding to receive sealed bids for Chester E-Health Center Building Interior Improvements. Sealed bids must be submitted online through the PennBid electronic procurement program. Bidders are required to provide Bid Security in an amount equal to 5% of the total amount bid, which may be provided as a certified check or bid bond from a Surety Company licensed in Pennsylvania. Upon award, the Successful Bidder must provide a Performance Bond and a Labor and Materials Payment Bond, each equal to 100% of the contract value, and upon completion, a 1-year Maintenance Bond for 100% of the final contract value. Bidders must comply with Davis Bacon labor standards, including prevailing wages where applicable. Questions must be submitted through PennBid. Only the Successful Bidder is responsible for paying a fee to PennBid, calculated as 1/3% of the initial contract award for fixed fee contracts or 1/6% for term contracts, with a minimum of $150 and a maximum of $6,000. In general, this project consists of the renovation of approximately 2,200 S.F. of existing floor space at the Silvercare Building in order to provide space for a training facility. The proposed training facility will contain a reception area, conference room, training classroom for 15 students, and restrooms. The scope of work includes, but is not limited to, interior demolition, installation of new flooring, partition walls, installation of new doors, millwork, installation of new acoustical ceiling system, installation of new electrical outlets and components, installation of new HVAC systems, installation of new bathroom plumbing and components, and installation of new casework. All related minor work, connections, plumbing, and electrical connections required to complete the installations will be performed by each Contractor and included in the base cost per item. A. GENERAL CONSTRUCTION - The contractor shall perform the following work at the Silvercare Medical Building facility per the bid form on PennBID: The General Contractor is responsible for the schedule and coordination among all other contracts. Work needed to coordinate and schedule the project shall be included in mobilization. 1. Mobilization (Max. $10,000) - Lump Sum (LS) pricing shall include contractor's offices, storage areas, and sanitary or other facilities. This work includes obtaining the required permits, insurance, bonds, and any other initial items required for the start of the work. Mobilization is required to comply with local and state laws and regulations. Mobilization shall be paid once. 2. General Allowance ($25,000) - Lump Sum (LS) pricing shall include a fixed bid amount of $25,000 to be used for items not included in the Base Bid, as directed by the Engineer. Payment for this allowance will be made for material cost, receiving, handling, and installation of items not within the project scope that may arise after the start of construction and require a Change Order. 3. General Carpentry Allowance ($25,000) - Lump Sum (LS) pricing shall include a fixed bid amount of $25,000 to be used for carpentry items not included in the Base Bid, as directed by the Engineer. Payment for this allowance will be made for material cost, receiving, handling, and installation of items not within the project scope that may arise after the start of construction and require a Change Order. 4.
