Reference Number 0000312630 The purpose of this Notice is to inform prospective vendors of the forthcoming procurement for the North South Transmission Systems Interconnection Project for the Saskatchewan Power Corporation (SaskPower). SaskPower is preparing to launch a competitive process to identify two qualified Engineer, Procure, Construct (EPC) contractors for a potential major transmission project. SaskPower is exploring the construction of two new 250-kilometre transmission lines to connect Saskatchewan's northern and southern transmission systems, along with tie-ins to existing 230 kV stations and a new eight-position switching station. If approved, these upgrades would help ensure reliable power for northern communities and support continued economic development in the province. The proposed transmission lines would start near the E.B. Campbell Switching Station and connect to the northern grid at the Island Falls Switching Station. This is a complex project, and SaskPower is committed to meaningful, transparent engagement with Rightsholders, Indigenous communities, and other stakeholders throughout planning and decision-making. The two selected contractors would participate in early planning and design to accelerate timelines, address supply chain challenges, and maintain strong owner involvement should the project proceed. SaskPower will seek proposals from experienced EPC firms with a proven track record in but not limited to: o Delivering large transmission projects. o Construction and logistics in a remote environment o Early contractor involvement and progressive design-build models. o Collaborative approaches to risk management.
