The intent is to obtain the services of a qualified firm to replace the Chiller at the Goochland High School Complex located at 3250 River Road West, Goochland, VA 23063, as specified in the invitation for bids. Solicitation only accepts paper responses. PROJECT SCOPE INCLUDES THE REMOVAL OF THE EXISTING WATER COOLED CHILLER, CHILLED WATER PUMPS, SECONDARY CONDENSER WATER PUMPS, AND SECTIONS OF CHILLED WATER AND CONDENSER WATER PIPING NECESSARY FOR CONNECTION TO REPLACEMENT EQUIPMENT. THE REPLACEMENT CHILLER WILL BE A MODULAR TYPE WATER COOLED CHILLER. THE CHILLED WATER PIPING ARRANGEMENT WILL BE CONVERTED TO A VARIABLE PRIMARY, VARIABLE SECONDARY, AND VARIABLE SECONDARY CONDENSER WATER ARRANGEMENT. THE EXISITNG COOLING TOWER AND PRIMARY CONDENSER WATER PUMPS ARE TO REMAIN. THE WORK IN THE CENTRAL PLANT WILL INCLUDE NEW CONTROLS FOR THE CHILLER SYSTEM AND AN UPGRADE TO THE EXISTING CONTROLS FOR THE REMAINING CENTRAL PLANT EQUIPMENT (BOILERS, PUMPS, HEAT EXCHANGERS, AND COOLING TOWER CONTROLLER. TO CONVERT TO A VARIABLE SECONDARY SYSTEM, THE EXISTING 3-WAY CHILLED WATER CONTROL VALVES SERVING THE ROOF TOP AIR HANDLING UNITS IN THE HIGH SCHOOL AND MIDDLE SCHOOL WILL BE REPLACED WITH 2-WAY VALVES AND THE ADDITION OF A REMOTE DIFFERENTIAL PRESSURE TRANSMITTER. ELECTRIAL WORK WILL CONSIST OF DISCONNECTION AND RECONNECTION OF UPGRADED EQUIPMENT. The Work of Project is defined by the Contract Documents and consists of the following: 1. In general, the project includes the demolition of the existing centrifugal water-cooled chiller and associated pumps and piping at Goochland High School. Installation of a new modular water-cooled chiller and associated pumps, with piping and electrical modifications to support the new chiller layout.
