Site work and renovation of an industrial development in Ben Lomond, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 1,000-square-foot industrial development; and 14,000-square-foot industrial development.
The scope of work consists of the installation of a new 14,000 square foot canopy roof over the existing recycling area, including the rerouting of a portion of a sanitary sewer line, spill containment upgrades, safety improvements, and a new 1,000 square foot canopy roof over the existing household hazardous waste area. Additional work includes repairs to the existing concrete retaining wall/push wall, electrical upgrades to the facility, and interior structural retrofits to the existing transfer station building. The Contractor shall complete all or any designated portions of the work called for under the contract in all parts and requirements within 250 working days, except as modified in the technical specifications. Each contractor shall include in their bid all labor, tools, and materials for a complete and working Project for each trade component in conformance with the intent shown on the plans and specifications and specified herein. Prospective bidders must be fully qualified, licensed, certified, and insured to perform all the work requested. All work performed must meet all current applicable laws and regulations. No contractor or subcontractor may be listed on a bid proposal or be awarded a contract unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations. This Project is subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement by the Department of Industrial Relations. Each bidder must submit a bid proposal on the standard forms enclosed, accompanied by a cashier's check, certified check, or bidder's bond of ten percent (10%) of the amount of the bid submitted, payable to the County of Santa Cruz. Pursuant to the California Labor Code, the Contractor shall pay not less than the prevailing rate of per diem wages as determined by the Director of the California Department of Industrial Relations. Contractors and Subcontractors must make good faith efforts to hire Monterey Bay area residents in sufficient numbers so that no less than 50 percent of the total construction work force, including any subcontractor's workforce, measured in labor work hours is comprised of Monterey Bay area residents.
