Sparta Area Schools are seeking Mechanical Contracting bids for Boiler System Upgrades in the Appleview Elementary. The general scope of this work is to refresh the existing boiler plant with two new boilers with boiler pumps, replace existing system pumps, and install a new heat exchanger, pumps and storage tank to replace the existing domestic heating plant. It is intended to start this boiler room work while the heating season is still in season. For this reason, the M.C. shall demolish and replace each boiler, and each system pump individually by isolating that piece of equipment with shut off valves. 1. M.C. shall pull the boiler permit with the State of Michigan. 2. Each boiler and boiler pump will be replaced one at a time in order to keep the system live for the spring shoulder month. This should include new boiler combustion intake, new exhaust, new condensate neutralization kit and piping, and new boiler drain. 3. Each System pump will be replaced one at a time. 4. The domestic heating plant will also need to be replaced while school is in session. MYESCO will work with the contractor to plan a cutover that works with the district schedule. The main cut over should be planned for the week of spring break. 5. The M.C. is responsible for all new piping, valves, gauges, and fittings required for the installation of the new equipment. 6. At the completion of the project, all exposed piping shall be re-insulated. 7. At the completion of the project, the balance shall provide balance report for new system pumps and boilers. 8. A new CO detector will be installed by others.
