The project consists of miscellaneous pothole repairs throughout the City if and when/where directed. The Base Bid shall include the saw-cutting and removal of pavement and base material in and around the identified pothole and/or deteriorated roadway section, full depth pavement repair, and restoration of roadway features including striping, markings, etc. Alternate Bid 'A' shall include joint sealing repairs, if and when/where directed. The schedule of repairs is subject to vary depending on necessity. The duration of this contract shall be for one year. Proposals must be made on the standard proposal forms included with the Contract Documents, enclosed in sealed envelopes bearing the name and address of the bidder and the name of the project on the outside, and addressed to the City of Union City. Proposals must be accompanied by a statement of consent of surety from a surety company authorized to do business in New Jersey and acceptable to the Owner, and either a bid bond or certified check made to the order of City of Union City for not less than ten percent (10%) of the amount bid, not to exceed $20,000.00. The successful bidder must provide a performance bond and labor and material (payment) bond for the full project amount. Within the same sealed bid envelope, bidders must submit one original proposal package and two complete copies of the bid package (clipped, not stapled). Additional statutory and regulatory requirements apply, including affirmative action compliance and public disclosure provisions. Only properly qualified bidders in accordance with the Contract Documents will be accepted. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive informality, increase or decrease specified quantities, or abandon the project in the event of legal or administrative actions affecting project commencement.
