The proposed work includes all labor, materials, tools, supplies, utility and transportation services, equipment, and all incidentals necessary for the 15th Street Mill & Overlay Project from Harrison Street to Brady Street. All work must strictly comply with the provided plans and specifications. Bids must be submitted electronically, and late, paper, faxed, or emailed submissions will not be accepted. Bidders must register as a supplier in the electronic system. Bids must be free of all sales taxes. For bids over $100,000, a Bid Bond of 5% of the bid amount is required, and awarded contractors will need to furnish a Performance Bond for 100% of the contract amount. The contractor is required to complete all work, including final cleanup and removal of equipment, by May 31, 2026. Liquidated damages are set at $500.00 per day. Bidders must include a Certificate of Insurance for General Liability, Workers Compensation, and Vehicle insurance with the bid. Manufacturers written warranties and guarantees are also required. All work is governed by the Specifications, General Contract Conditions, and Instructions to Bidders. Payments will be made monthly. Preference is given to products and provisions grown and coal produced within the State of Iowa. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids and waive technicalities or irregularities. Contractors must ensure non-discrimination in employment, and potential prime contractors are encouraged to contact DBE subcontractors. Please be aware that all Contractor vehicles and major equipment, excluding personal vehicles, must bear the name of the contractor in at least two locations. This project is located on 15 th Street from Harrison Street to Brady Street. The proposed improvements include, but are not limited to, the furnishing of all labor, materials and equipment necessary for the milling and overlay of the existing asphalt roadway, ADA sidewalk and ramps, resetting of all existing utility surface features to finish grade, replacement of the adjacent alley approaches, paint striping, topsoil, sodding, and erosion control. The quantities herein represent the Engineers estimate of the amount of work to be completed. Actual as-built quantities may vary from bid quantities.
