Renovation of a library in Wakefield, Massachusetts. Working plans call for the renovation of a library.

The bid was cancelled.  The Town of Wakefield through its Department of Public Works invites sealed bids for HVAC Chiller and RTU replacements at the Lucius Beede Memorial Library, 345 Main Street, Wakefield, Massachusetts 01880. Forms of bids and specifications may be obtained at the Department of Public Works, Town Hall, 1 Lafayette Street Wakefield, MA 01880 or by emailing ann.waitt@wakefieldma.gov. There will be a walk-through meeting at the Lucius Beede Memorial Library, with access to the roof dependent on weather conditions and subject to cancellation if deemed unsafe. The Town of Wakefield reserves the right to reject any or all proposals, cancel the solicitation, waive minor informalities, and accept the proposal deemed to be in the best interest of the Town. Question Deadline 02/12/2026 Questions concerning this invitation for bids must be submitted in writing to: AnnWaitt,Buissness ManagerTown ofWakefield DPW, One Lafayette Street, Wakefield, MA 01880 on or before the close of business 3 days before the bids are due. Questions MUST be emailed to Ann.Waitt@wakefieldma.gov Written responses will be RETURNED VIA EMAIL to all bidders on record as having picked up the IFB. Oral responses from the Town will not be acknowledged. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, permits, fees, coordination, transportation, disposal, and incidentals necessary to remove existing HVAC equipment and provide new, fully operational chiller and rooftop unit (RTU) systems, complete and ready for continuous service, in accordance with the Contract Documents. All work shall be performed in compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local codes, including but not limited to Massachusetts General Laws, OSHA regulations, EPA requirements, ASHRAE standards, and manufacturer’s recommendations. The Contractor shall provide materials of a quality equal to or exceeding that of original materials and/or shall be of a quality compatible to existing materials to provide desired results, as approved by the Town.
