The project is known as the Fayette Water Board - Luxapallila Supply Improvements Project. The general character of the project consists of installation of flush valves, pressure reducing valves, concrete paving, and various improvements at the existing water treatment plant. Bidders are required to furnish all labor, material (where required), and equipment to perform the work according to the plans, details, specifications, and contract documents. Bidders must meet the criteria and requirements outlined in the instructions to bidders and bid proposal. Prequalification is not required, but specific requirements must be submitted with the proposal. All bidders must possess appropriate licenses or permits required by law or regulation for the performance of the work, and must submit their contractor's license number and a copy of the license with the proposal. All bids must include a cashier's check from an Alabama bank or a fully executed bid bond on the provided form, executed by a surety authorized to do business in Alabama, for not less than 5 percent of the estimated cost of the project or the total bid, not to exceed $10,000. Bidders are advised to carefully read the instructions to bidders contained in the contract documents, which are incorporated by reference.
