The City of Parksville invites proposals from qualified contractors to upgrade six existing tennis courts located in the Springwood Athletic Park (the “Park”) located at 500 Despard Avenue West. The City wishes to repair, resurface and repaint the play area to extend the life of the courts. The Contractor will complete the following scope of services: Power wash and prepare the play area surface for repairs and updates. Repair all cracks, and uneven surface issues as required using a router and acrylic filler. Install Riteway crack repair membrane (or equivalent approved by the City) on all structural cracks. Clean project area for resurfacing. Repair any asphalt areas. Resurface play area with Laykold acrylic sports court surfacing system or approved equivalent. Prior to application of colour finish system, the court surface should be flooded with water to check planarity and draining. Birdbath areas exceeding 10mm in diameter in surface area must be repaired, patched, and re-levelled. Lay out and tape court lines, then apply by brush two coats for all colours. Lines must be straight with clean edges. Install tennis court markings per existing court layout and in strict accordance with Tennis Canada’s 2025 Rules of the Court. Replace tennis net posts on all six courts as follows: Remove old net posts, fill voids and prepare for install of new posts. Supply and install new posts and sleeves with new foundations for 6 tennis courts that meet rulebook standards. Posts shall be Douglas DTP 37 Tennis posts.
