Disposal Requirements: The selected vendor shall perform all work and lawfully dispose of all demolition debris, discarded waste, and other materials generated during the work. The purpose of this request for proposal is to invite prospective vendors to submit a proposal to supply Emmet County with roofing improvements described herein. Replace or repair existing defective decking on an additional approved per square foot cost. Install new decking to match existing deck thickness and type. Attach boards to roof decking using manufacturer's recommended fasteners and attachment criteria. Deck replacement to span a minimum of three (3) structural supports. Reattach existing roof decking where found loose or not adequately attached. Roof surfaces shall be sound reasonably smooth and free from defects that would interfere with roofing installation. General: Installation of new Asphalt Shingle Roof System and related accessories shall comply with manufacturer's instructions and recommendations but not less than those recommended by ARMA's "Residential Asphalt Roofing Manual" or "The NRCA Steep Roofing Manual". Cut, remove, and repair existing wall covering as needed to install specified metal flashing system. Remove and reinstall j-vent curbs as needed to accommodate the new roofing system and metal flashing applications. Clean roof deck surfaces of dust, debris, and other substances detrimental to roofing installation according to roofing system manufacturer's written instructions. Remove sharp projections. At project completion, Verify all downspouts are full flowing and fully functional. Inspect all joints, connections, and hangers. Repair or replace defective items.
